Welcome to the Australian Citizens’ Parliament!
“How can Australia’s political system be strengthened to serve us better?”
What is the Australian Citizens’ Parliament about? |
|
150 randomly selected citizens will deliberate, then deliver their recommendations at Old Parliament House, Canberra on February 06-09, 2009. Their task is to answer the question: “How can Australia’s political system be strengthened to serve us better?” Let’s start with Australians of every walk of life, of diverse attitudes and beliefs who experience current government policy and political organisation every day. While some may be experts in administration, law or economics, there are many more who also hold thoughtful perspectives about politics. With random selection we invite a full range of views in a group that is small enough to have a reasonable and lively conversation. Add professional facilitation to hold an open space for dialogue and deliberative problem solving. Participants can feel confident to communicate with a commitment to mutual respect, social inclusion, empathy, idea exploration, learning and honest reflection. A family story from a country town may jolt a business woman to ask a question that leads an inner-city pensioner to make a new connection between policy and social condition. It’s an environment where quiet idiosyncrasy and innovation are welcomed as ideas get shared and mixed. Common ground is celebrated but consensus is never pressed. Then build on a mission that deliberative processes like the Australian Citizens’ Parliament are changing the way we talk about politics. A range of recommendations relevant to the question will be formulated and presented by participants. While recognising the strengths of our governing institutions, they will encourage the Government to look beyond the election cycle, escape from orthodoxy and special interests, and implement reforms with widespread and sustainable benefit. |

House Raising and restumping in Brisbane
I took the service of http://brisbanerestumping.com.au/about-a1-restumping/ when I needed to raise my building in Brisbane last year and I must say that I’m quite pleased with the way they handled the whole project. I wanted the house to have 3 levels and wanted a little space around the house with a few trees. That was basically my plan and as the land zone was not really big, I knew that it would be a tough task. However, the guys from A1 Restumping were very smart about the project and quickly understood what I wanted to see. They basically started to raise the house almost the way I wanted to be. I’m saying ‘almost’ because it took a bit of more space than the space I wanted it to take. Other than that, I am totally cool with the work.
I also want to say that A1 Restumping seems to be a pretty nice company that is capable of handling challenging projects like mine. The guys from the organization were also very friendly and totally professional and I really value these things! They took the matter into their own hands right from the start and they consulted me with every step of the construction process in case I needed to change that.
I liked their service and their quality so basically no qualms there. A1 Restumping took special notice of things like steel stamping (which was needed in my house) and the flooring and they made sure that they avoid common errors like sloping or uneven floors or rusted steel stumps. They even had quite a reasonable charge for their services so I didn’t have any problems of paying them later. Like I said, these guys were professional because they have been doing it for 30 years or so and I think that must have given them a hell lot of experience in this field. What is Profile Cutting?
What is profile cutting? For professionals starting out in the field of engineering, it is important to become familiarized with the various terms and processes used for various projects. Mechanical engineers are well versed with profile cutting and its uses and applications. For those who do not know what profile cutting is and where it is utilized, here are basic points to provide you with a general knowledge of this procedure.
The Definition of Profile Cutting
For beginners, it can be embarrassing to be asked what it is and having a blank stare because you don’t know its meaning. Profile cutting is the process of dissecting or cutting vertically to see what is inside a certain item. There are various uses of profile cutting in the field of engineering and some of the purposes include the following:
- Cut in half metal sheets and other solid matters.
- To collect sample data for further research and analysis.
- Shape a certain material according to its function or use and many more.
What is Profile Cutting? The Basic Concept
Although the term may be unfamiliar to a lot of people, the idea behind profile cutting is pretty simple. For instance, if you want to learn more about a certain object, you can simply slice it in half vertically. Say for example, examining the pit of an apple, you simple slice through the center to give you a profile preview and lay out of what is inside the apple. But in the field of engineering, you look at more complex things.
This goes the same in profile cutting, as you slice through vertically you are able to assess the core and components easily.
Profile Cutting Machine
Learning about profile cutting is easier when you know which machine is used to slice through.
Generally, the types of profile machine vary depending on the size and type of material being dissected. Different profile cutting machines make use of precision cutting from heat or plasma to cut through steel, soil, rocks and even glass. Some profile cutting machines are lightweight and portable, which is designed to cut through smaller and thinner objects.
Heavy duty profile cutting machines are used in industrial factories such as glass manufacturing companies and steel sheet fabrication facilities. This machine’s basic function is to provide the most accurate and equal dissection of steel, glass and other solid masses. Here are some commonly used types of profile cutting machines by industrial factories and engineers.
- Heat profile cutting machine
This type of profile cutter makes use of a laser beam to slice through even thick metal sheets.
- Water jet profile cutting machine
Perfect to accurately cut through glass frames, this profile cutting machine uses highly pressurized stream of water to divide glass without shattering it into pieces.
- Fabric and leather profile cutting machines
Mainly used for textile and fabric manufacturing plants, these types of profile cutting machine is more delicate than the other profile cutters and can only be used for fabric and leather.
What is profile cutting? Now that you know the answer to that question, it’s time for you to explore how to do it.
